Denver, CO – Governor Polis is honored to receive the endorsements of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the LGBTQ Victory Fund, and One Colorado as Colorado celebrates Pride Month. The first openly-gay elected Governor in the nation, Polis continues to make Colorado a national leader in LGBTQ+ rights.
“The support of the LGBTQ+ community will be critical this November as we work hard to secure another four years of inclusive leadership for Colorado,” Governor Polis said. “People should be able to marry who they love and proudly be who they are. The work of organizations like HRC, Victory Fund, and One Colorado is important to protect and expand the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ persons.”
Governor Polis has been a forward-thinking leader, working with Colorado’s LGBTQ+ community during his first term as Governor to strengthen policies to support LGBTQ+ people and their families. Today, Colorado is recognized as one of the best states in America for LGBTQ+ business climate and protections for youth.
The Governor recently enacted “Marlo’s Law” to affirm the parental rights of LGBTQ+ parents who use assisted reproductive technology and also took the major step of protecting LGBTQ+ youth by banning the discredited practice of conversion therapy.
Colorado’s voters value the importance of electing politicians who make real commitments and efforts to advancing LGBTQ+ rights. With the support of HRC, Victory Fund and ONE Colorado, Polis for Colorado will be able to keep voters informed on the political, legislative and LGBTQ+ related progress Colorado has and will continue to make.
