On the road with Jared

I spend a lot of time with Jared.

One of the hats that I wear on the campaign is “Bodyperson” (not to be confused with bodyguard, as I am barely 5’9”). Together, Jared and I have driven more than 15,000 miles over the past 9 months, spanning countless hours. I’ve traveled with Jared to 200 meet and greets (and counting) in every corner of the state, from Yuma to Grand Junction, Pagosa Springs to Wray.

During this time, I have learned a lot about Jared. Beyond his plethora of dad jokes and eternal love for his dog Gia, here are a few fun facts about Jared:

Jared Fact #1: Jared’s absolute favorite food is pho and, while a moving vehicle is generally not the best place for eating noodle soup, it’s not an obstacle for Jared when he has a craving.

Jared Fact #2: Jared prioritizes function over fashion, and in the eight months we’ve been on the road together, I have yet to see him wear any footwear besides sneakers.

Jared Fact #3: Jared cares deeply about the people around him. He even records happy birthday video messages for his constituents on Facebook — every day! And if he can’t make it home to put his kids to bed at night, he always makes time to FaceTime them.

When I started on the campaign, I knew Jared had the right qualifications to be the next governor of Colorado on paper. But 15,000 miles later, I know without a doubt that there’s no one who cares about this state and its people more. He has the experience and vision to lead Colorado into the future.

But you don’t need to spend all day every day with Jared to learn that — just meet him once and I’m sure you’ll agree with me. One of the best ways to do that is by stopping by one of our field offices for a canvass launch — you’ll get to hear from Jared and then head out and talk to your neighbors about why it’s so important they make their voices heard in June
